(r)Evolution X
by Doug Dorst and foolsFURY
(r)Evolution X collides debates and questions about evolutionary biology with the form and history of the circus in America. These expansive topics provide a spacious and exciting sandbox for a collaborative team of artists and thinkers led by foolsFURY artistic director Ben Yalom and novelist Doug Dorst. The project is still in development, but a work-in-progress showing was performed at the 2011 FURY Factory.
The creative team for (r)Evolution X includes: the foolsFURY ensemble, a group of highly trained physical actors; novelist Doug Dorst, whose Alive in Necropolis was a New York Times notable book in 2009; evolutionary biologist Olivia Judson, known for her Wild Side column in the New York Times, and her international best-seller Dr. Tatiana’s Sex Advice to All Creation; and long-time foolsFURY composer and sound designer, Patrick Kaliski.
